Winter Walk is proud to share stories, videos, and images of our amazing participants. These are stories from walkers from all walks of life, from our partner organizations, our friend and family, individuals who have experienced homelessness, those that have provided support for this initiative, and beyond. We hope you enjoy them!

AUNT ANGIE’S STORY

We're grateful to have walked with Pam B. for the last 2 years, and to know her story. Pam kindly allowed us to share with our community about herself, her Aunt Angie, and why the walk is so meaningful to her family. Click here to read more…

JOHN’S STORY

We met John through our work with common cathedral, a faith-based organization that is open to all, with programs and care for people experiencing homelessness, and meaningful opportunities for those who want to support un-housed individuals. John is an amazing ambassador for the Winter Walk, helping to gather participants and spread the word. He also has his own story that lead him to work with the community we care about together, and he was kind enough to share why he participates in the Winter Walk each year. Read more here.

ELLIE’S STORY

Ellie is a 7 year old girl who has Winter Walked with us the last 2 years as her family is very involved with the walk. This year she has decided to get even more involved, encouraging her school to participate and fundraising on her own. She shares a few thoughts in an interview here.

ROBBIE’S STORY

Robbie A. is a long time participant, walking for 3 years on behalf of the Boston Center for Refugees Health & Human Rights (BCRHHR), which is a part of the Immigrant Health Center at Boston Medical Center.  Many of BCRHHR’s clients are either homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Learn more about Robbie here.

CARMELLA’S STORY

Carmella was one of our amazing speakers our very first year of the walk in 2017. She shared her experience of homelessness and how our partner, Brookview House, helped her as she followed and accomplished her dreams. Read Carmella’s thoughts here.

AMANDA’S STORY

Amanda is the Executive Director of common cathedral, a faith-based organization and outdoor church with programs and care for people experiencing homelessness as well as meaningful opportunities for housed and unhoused individuals to come together. Amanda is also a board member for the Winter Walk, and helps rally communities far and wide to walk together. The Winter Walk is very lucky to share community with her. Read Amanda’s thoughts here.

TRACEY’S STORY
